πŸ˜‹πŸ½️The Restaurant memory that still brings smiles 😊 😊

Back in 1996, right after I got engaged — after conveniently missing two previous meet ups πŸ™ˆfor coffee with my fiancΓ© — I finally showed up to meet him one day evening after the work. We met near a bus stop and drove on a mini scooter to a nearby restaurant for some quiet coffee and chatter.

We were happily chatting away, stealing glances and giggles, when suddenly... I spotted a man who looked suspiciously like my would-be father-in-law. πŸ˜³

I nudged my fiancΓ©.

"Hey, look behind you... is that your dad?"

He laughed it off.

"No way! My dad? In a restaurant? Never! He' is at home."

I tried to stay calm, but my inner radar said otherwise.

"Please! Just look once..."

After a few dramatic eye rolls and reluctant neck-twisting, he turned around... and his eyes widened like saucers. It was his dad! πŸ˜²πŸ˜†

Cue the awkward silence, fast sipping, and record-breaking coffee-finishing speed. ☕πŸ’¨

Without a word, my fiancΓ© got up and dutifully went to drop his dad at the bus stop. Like a good son... and a busted fiancΓ©.

And me? I sat there trying not to burst into laughter. But oh, who was I kidding — I laughed the moment he stepped out πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ , thinking of what a coincidence it is.

Later, after our wedding, this turned into a legendary family tale.

Anytime someone mentioned going out to a restaurant or hotel, my father-in-law would shoot me a teasing smile and say, “I still remember the restaurant you both were there” πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š πŸ˜„πŸ›.

Friends, did you ever had such experience? I'm sure my story would bring smiles in you recollecting yours😊.
