It was the year my daughter completed her plus two and decided to pursue her dream — Law, a five-year integrated course, far from our hometown. π
It was the first time ever she was to stay away from us. Until then, the longest she had been apart was just a few days on school trips. But her determination and clarity about her goals gave us the courage to let her go. After completing the admission formalities in July, we dropped her at the campus and returned home — our hearts heavy, yet proud. π
Days turned into weeks… then one afternoon, we received an envelope. It was her first handwritten letter. ✉️
As I unfolded the paper, her words poured out with such pure love and affection, it brought tears to our eyes. She wrote about her classes, new friends, how she was managing her studies and finances, living with roommates, and taking care of herself.
But what touched us most was her deep love and respect for us and her grandparents, who were staying with us then. π΅π΄ Every line reflected her maturity, care, and growing sense of responsibility.
For the first time, we realized — our little girl was no longer a child, but a confident, independent young woman ready to embrace life on her own. πΈ
That letter remains close to our hearts — a precious reminder that though our children grow up and move away, their love always stays with us. π
She went on to graduate successfully, joined a reputed law firm, and began her journey toward her dreams — just the way she once wrote about in that heartfelt letter.
Sometimes, we realize how much our children have grown only when they step away — not in distance, but in strength. π·.
