It was in April 2008 that I decided to learn car driving — straightaway, without even trying a two-wheeler before! π With great excitement and curiosity, I joined a driving school for a month. Those were fun-filled days! The instructor beside me handled the clutch, steering, horn — almost everything — while I sat like a royal queen, pretending to drive my “dummy car.” ππ
After the training, the real adventure began — my own car π, on real roads! At first, I practiced with a driver beside me, then with my husband and brother, each encouraging me patiently. Soon, confidence bloomed like a morning flower. πΈ
One fine Monday morning, I decided it was time — my first solo drive to office, about 10 km away. I sat in the driver’s seat, my heart racing with both fear and thrill. I whispered to myself, ‘You can do it!’ and turned the key with a brave smile. I still remember the thrill as I turned the ignition. The roads through the AOC Cantonment area looked fresh and green. π³ Birds chirped, children in school uniforms waved cheerfully, and I felt like the world was celebrating my moment of independence! ππ«
With my little Alto gliding ahead, I smoothly managed the clutch, gears, and turns — all by myself. What a feeling! π
That drive wasn’t just a commute — it was the beginning of freedom, confidence, and pure driving joy! ππ. — it was about believing in myself. Every turn I took on the road felt like a new turn in my confidence.” π
I continued…but, at one red signal, I accidentally honked twice instead of shifting gears — the passerby gave me a puzzled smile, and I just grinned back sheepishly! π .
Slowly and steadily, I reached office and parked it. My excitement and adventure accomplished! π
